a santa cruz police lieutenant is the first female to become a member of the department’s motorcycle unit. Lieutenant colleen mcmahon has served with the santa cruz police department for 22-years. she has taught motorcycle safety at cabrillo college, and graduated recently from the alameda county sheriff’s motor academy.
