A Monterey woman is now facing murder charges, as a result of a fatal accident this past January. 24-year-old calista Garcia is accused of being under the influence of drugs when the January 19th wreck occurred. Garcia drove the wrong way on highway-1, (near point lobos), and collided head-on with another vehicle. The other driver, 49-year-old sacramento resident james steinmetz was pronounced dead at the scene. Garcia sustained minor injuries. She had already been convicted of a collision-dui. That further influenced authorities to bring the murder charge.
