Authorities in san luis obispo county have announced that a salinas man has been sentenced to 9-years in prison. That after 27-year-old michael garrett youngblood was convicted of running over a sheriff’s deputy. The incident occurred at a lake nacimiento campground last year. Youngblood pleaded no contest last month to assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. The charge carried an enhancement, because the deputy suffered a shattered leg in the incident. He has since returned to duty. Youngblood was also ordered to pay 7-thousand dollars in restitution.
