Cal-train officials have announced that fares on commuter trains will increase, starting july 1st. the base fare for riders from the Monterey peninsula area is set to go up by 25-cents. In addition to that, the daily parking fee is also set to go up by 4-dollars, and the monthly parking fee will increase by 40-dollars. The rate increases were approved after a plan to close as many as 10-stations was rejected.
