A person walking across the on-ramp to highway-101 at borodna road, in Salinas was struck and killed this afternoon by a semi-truck. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. southbound traffic on highway-101 was diverted to russell road, following the 3:35 p.m. accident. northbound traffic has been diverted to boronda road, to north main street, then to martinez road. authorities are searching for the truck driver.
