u.s. postal service officials still plan on shutting the mail-processing center in Salinas, and transferring the workload to san jose. That, despite a plea by representative sam farr today, to reconsider the move. Congressman farr met with officials, hoping they would reconsider, however the move is still being planned. Farr also is asking the postal service to justify the expected savings, which officials estimate to be almost 600-thousand dollars a year.
