the board of directors of the san lorenzo valley water district unanimously approved a 15 percent rate increase for its customers. the increase was discussed at a meeting held yesterday at the highlands park center. the rate increase is planned to take EFFECT on june 1st, raising the average monthly bill from 91 dollars to 105 dollars. in order to prevent the rate increase, a majority of the district’s customers would have had to send letters opposing the plan. the district only received 103 letters of opposition.
