A Santa Cruz Police Officer has been promoted to the level of Sergeant. 37-year-old Arnold Vasquez has been with the department for 11-years. Vasquez has held several positions in the department, including the school resource officer at Santa Cruz City Schools. Vasquez is considered an expert on Central Coast gangs.
