A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Salinas yesterday, after he was reported trying to break into an apartment. Salinas police officers were called at 1:30p.m., after someone spotted the teenager trying to enter a residence on the 9-hundred block of lupin street. Officers took the suspect into custody at the Sherwood gardens shopping center, after a brief foot chase. The teen was booked into juvenile hall on several charges, including attempted burglary, and an outstanding arrest warrant.
