a power outage of currently unknown origin is affecting nearly 1,000 pg&e customers in the capitola, soquel and east santa cruz areas. the outage was first reported just before 6 a.m. this morning. PG&E has reported that power lines are down on 42nd avenue and clares street. PG&E is currently on the scene assessing the outage.
