Board members of the scotts valley unified school district held a public forum yesterday, to hear from community members about finding the district’s next superintendent. The forum was held in conjunction with the private consultation firm that was hired to conduct the hiring process. Community members said they would prefer to hire someone that lives in the area, and who can participate in community events. The effort to find a new superintendent comes as current superintendent susan silver prepares to retire at the end of the year. A replacement is expected to be named sometime this summer.
