a training exercise was held this week on the pajaro river in which a few dozen members of the army corps of engineers examined the levee. the exercise was part of a conference held in seaside that brought together engineers, biologists, economists and planners from the corps south pacific division. the training exercise is not related to an effort to improve and upgrade the levee, but city leaders hope it will bring attention to the project.
