Seaside city employee contract 05/05/11 9:30p.m. TDH

City employees in Seaside have agreed to a new contract, that comes without a cost-of living-adjustment for the 3rd year in a row.  The seaside city employees association and the seaside managers and supervisory employees association, which together represent nearly all of Seaside’s non-public-safety employees, agreed to the contract with a wage freeze, due to the continued budget strains.   The move saves the city roughly 865-thousand dollars in the upcoming fiscal year.  City leaders also approved the elimination of an assistant city manager position.  3-firefighters were taken off of the city payroll as well, however they are expected to keep their jobs through a grant given to the city.
