Last week, the Santa Cruz Planning Commission recommended that the city council approve a major overhaul of Ocean Street. Planning Commissioners voted to endorse the Ocean Street Plan on Thursday. The project has been under evaluation for several years, and would feature multiple new commercial and high-density residential properties, as well as a parking garage at the County building. Ocean Street would also be widened in some areas. The city council is scheduled to consider the plan next month.
