5 elephant seals and one sea lion were released into the Pacific Ocean today in Carmel at Point Lobos State Reserve Beach. The seals were rescued and nurtured by the Marine Mammal Center after they were found in March suffering from malnutrition. The rescue occurred from as far south as San Luis Obispo County and as far north as Mendocino County.
