1 teen girl suffered fatal injuries while another was airlifted to a local hospital after both were struck by 2 different vehicles in separate incidents Saturday night on Espinosa Road in the Castroville area. The 1st accident occurred at 8:30 p.m. when a 17-year old Salinas girl was struck by a car while she was crossing the road West of Rogers Road. Roughly 90 minutes later, just after 10 p.m., a 13-year old King City resident, identified as Teresa Rodriguez, stepped in front of an oncoming vehicle, where she was thrown from the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene. Both accidents are under investigation.
