The C.E.O. of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System has announced his retirement. Sam Downing has served as the C.E.O. of the hospital network since 1985. He announced on Friday that he will leave the position at the end of the month. His replacement has not yet been named, but is expected to serve on an interim basis.
