CENTRAL COAST STATE OF EMERGENCY 04-15-11 12:00 a.v.

Governor Jerry Brown today issued a State of Emergency for 19 counties including Santa Cruz, and Monterey, for damages caused during a series of severe storms last month. The rainstorms, which swept across California between March 15th and 27th, brought high winds, heavy rains and flooding. The bad weather caused roads and highways to close as a result of mudflows, debris, floods, and erosion. These conditions are said to require continuing emergency response, including significant repair, reconstruction work and debris removal.
