CORRAL DE TIERRA PROJECT DELAYED 04-13-11 08:00 a.v.

Monterey County Board of Supervisors rejected a developer’s plan yesterday to build a shopping center in a rural area of Monterey County. The Corral de Tierra project was scaled back from it’s original design of over 126,000 square-feet to 112,000, and is slated to be built at the intersection of Highway 68 and Corral de Tierra Road. Supervisors argue the rescaled version of the project is still too large and site concerns related to water, traffic and the effects the shopping center would have on the area’s natural beauty.
