SALINAS SCHOOL DISTRICT APPROVES LAYOFFS 04-12-11 17:30 a.v.

During it’s meeting yesterday, board members with the Salinas City Elementary School District approved issuing layoff notices to over 2 dozen employees. The decision to eliminate 32 classified positions for the 2011-2012 academic year, falls on the heels of the District’s budget shortfall. A total of 31 part-time and 10 month contract positions will be eliminated, including one day-care aide, 10 instructional aides, one migrant parent service clerk, one parent coordinator, and 18 preschool instructional associates.
