ANNUAL EVENT DRAWS HUNDREDS 04-04-11 10:00 a.v.

April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month, and an event over the weekend in Watsonville kicked off the month with hundreds participating. Over 450 people came out for The 5th Annual Walk to Stop the Silence, a march presented by The Survivors Healing Center, a non-profit that provides therapy, resources and education for survivors of sexual abuse. An Event Organizer says the amount of participants tripled this year compared to the first year. The march was an effort to bring awareness to childhood sexual abuse.
