A broken sewage pipe running under Lake Nacimiento, has been identified and repaired, however water restrictions remain in place. Officials with the San Luis Obispo County Public works says the breach occurred on a lateral clean-out line to the collection system, and poses a very low risk of any discharges from the system into the lake. Testing since the breach shows normal background bacteria levels, however an order to avoid swimming and other contact with lake water remains in effect.
Testing is expected to be completed by tomorrow morning and water restrictions are said to be lifted by tomorrow evening.
