APTOS EMBANKMENT RESCUE – UPDATED 03-31-11 16:30 a.v.

A woman was airlifted to an out of county trauma center after slipping down a 60-foot embankment in Aptos yesterday afternoon. Ket Conway was walking her dog on the railroad tracks on Estates Drive at 12:30, when she fell. A railroad crew investigating a slide area near the embankment, found the woman and called emergency responders. The woman’s dog, who refused to be rescued until the woman was lifted on a gurney to safety, was uninjured. Conway, meanwhile, was treated for traumatic injuries.
