A town hall meeting will be hosted tonight by the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor in an effort to discuss tsunami recovery efforts. The meeting, which encourages public input on how to help those who lost boats or slips in the March 11th surge, takes place at 7:15 p.m. after a special Port Commission meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. Both meetings take place at the Simpkins Family Swim Center located at 979 17th Avenue. The harbor fully reopened to vessel traffic last week after the surge, which stemmed from a massive earthquake in Japan. Recovery work, however, is ongoing and dozens of slips were lost due to dock damage.
