A former assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Agricultural Affairs is slated to speak at the Monterey Institute of International Studies next week. Dr.James M. Murphy, Jr. is expected to address agricultural affairs in international trade during a free public lecture on Thursday March 31st at the university’s downtown Monterey campus. Dr. Murphy’s office coordinated U.S. agricultural trade policy among all government agencies that manage trade, and he oversaw agricultural issues in the negotiation of trade agreements with foreign governments. Again, the free public event takes place Thursday March 31st at 7 p.m. in Monterey at 411 Pacific Street in Room 102 of the McGowan Building.
