A military device was found over the weekend in Santa Cruz County. The highly flammable device containing phosphorus, was found washed ashore at Sunny Cove Beach in the Live Oak area at around 5 p.m. A person walking on the beach found the device in a box marked “do not touch”. An Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit from the San Francisco Bay Area is expected to inspect the device sometime this week.
