3 separate lawsuits are being filed against the City of Capitola. The city is being sued by 3 different mobile home parks for not being able to raise rent prices. Surf and Sand Mobile Home Park has 2 lawsuits against them, Castle Mobile Home Park has one, followed by Cabrillo Mobile Home Park, whose case is currently pending. Meanwhile, the city, has spent nearly 2-million dollars in litigation fees, money, city leaders say, is being taken away from Capitola residents. City officials are expected to talk about amending the rent control ordinances.
