DNA evidence helped identify a Santa Cruz man who was arrested last week after he sexually assaulted an employee at a Santa Cruz coffee shop 3-years ago. 21-year old Elvis Lorenzo Garcia was arrested Friday in connection with the attack of an employee at the Kind Grind Coffee shop on March 19th 2008. Garcia was identified after familial D-N-A was used to identify him. The DNA in the case was taken from Garcia’s father, whose D-N-A was taken after he committed a felony. Garcia is being charged with 8-criminal counts and faces life in prison if convicted.
