A plan to install a biodiesel fuel station, was developed and adopted through a joint partnership by The Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority and The City of Salinas. The new fuel station slated for the Sun Street Transfer Station in Salinas, is expected to reduce diesel emissions in the Salinas Valley while also providing a sustainable fuel source for fleet operation, including the transfer route between the Sun Street Transfer Station in Salinas and Johnson Canyon Landfill in Gonzales.
