A man was arrested after he fled from officers during a vehicle check this morning in Salinas. Police approached the stopped vehicle at Airport Boulevard just before midnight. The man then drove off before losing control at the southbound ramp of Highway 101 at John Street. The car, which had been stolen out of Pacific Grove, struck a tree before hitting an apartment complex. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before he was booked into Monterey County Jail.
