CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST TO SPEAK IN MCO 02-28-11 06:30 a.v.

A nationally known civil rights activist is slated to speak in Monterey County this evening. Bob Zellner is set to discuss “Reflections on 50-years of Activism” at California State University, Monterey Bay during it’s final event in this year’s celebration of Black History Month. An Alabama native, and the son and grandson son of Ku Klux Klan members, Zellner is seen as one of the most influential white southerners of the civil right movement of the 1960s. The free event will get under way at 7 p.m. in the University Center on Sixth Avenue. The public is invited.
