A Central Coast destination has been named as one of the top active cities in the country by Time magazine. Santa Cruz was ranked number 4 after the survey compiled a list of 15 of the most active cities in the country. The findings came from 2008 census data and Centers for Disease Control data collected from 2007 to 2009 as part of the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System. Researchers estimated the percentage of adults who got no physical activity during their leisure time in each of the United States 3,141 counties. Inactivity rates ranged from 10.1% to 4%.
