A motion has been rejected to dismiss a lawsuit brought against the Morgan Hill School District. The District was sued by the parents of 3-students, who were sent home from Live Oak High School when they refused to hide the American flags on their t-shirts. The gained national attention, after the students were sent home on May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, because they refused school officials’ order to turn the shirts inside-out. Citing past incidents, chool leaders had sought to diffuse tension between those displaying Mexican flags on the holiday, and those displaying American flags. The case is set to proceed on March 14th.
