Pajaro Valley School board members gave preliminary approval to cutting 1-million-dollars from adult education programs this week. Although the decision isn’t final, the 4-2 vote on Tuesday clears the way to begin sending layoff noticed to affected teachers, by March 15th. The district must still make other cuts, as it faces a projected shortfall of several million dollars over the next few years. The cuts will have to be deeper, if voters do not extend a series of tax measures this June.
