A Public Information Hearing to discuss a proposed single-use plastic bag ban is slated for tomorrow in the Live Oak area of Santa Cruz. The proposal calls for businesses to stop offering single-use plastic bags and to charge customers 10 cents for each paper bag. The paper bag fee would reportedly increase to 25 cents after the 1st year of the ordinance. The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Simpkins Family Swim Center at 979 17th Avenue. Members of the community are invited to attend tomorrow’s meeting.
