A fire that broke fire early this morning in Santa Cruz has been extinguished. Firefighters responded around 3:15 a.m. to a home on the 400 block of Olive Street in Santa Cruz to find the home’s detached garage fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the home, or any other nearby structures. About 15 firefighters were on scene, including 3 engines and a fire truck. No evacuations were ordered and no injuries were reported. Officials say the fire was accidental and was started by a lit candle.
