BLAKESLEES REIMBURSEMENT BILL 01-13-10 20:30 a.v.

Local state senator Sam Blakeslee introduced a new bill this week that would reimburse counties for costs incurred for special elections held over the past two years. Senate Bill 106 would force the state to reimburse the 26 counties a total of 17.7 million dollars spent on 23 special elections held from January 2009 through April 19th of 2011. Blakeslee’s new bill would provide a mandate that all counties affected by recently held special elections shall be reimbursed for all costs associated with recent special elections.
