The victim of a drive-by shooting in Salinas this morning has succumbed to his injuries. Police responded to the 11-hundred block of Parkside Street at 10:50 a.m. to find a 26-year old man sitting in the driver’s seat of a red chevrolet pickup truck suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was taken to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him dead shortly after his arrival. The suspect vehicle was last seen turning eastbound onto West Laurel Drive. Police are searching for a Hispanic man in his 20’s, bald with no facial hair last seen in a green 1990’s model Mazda with faded paint. Anyone with any information is asked to call 1-800-78-crime.Police are investigating this case as gang-related.
