During a meeting with Monterey County Planning Commissioners today, a proposal to build a shopping center failed after a vote ended in a tie. Commissioners voted 5 to 5 on the new shopping center planned along Highway 68 and Corral de Tierra Road. The proposed 126,000 square foot shopping center, known as Corral de Tierra Shopping Village, would have included a grocery store with 500 parking spaces.
