The suspicious package that was “investigated” today in downtown Santa Cruz turned out to be a laptop computer inside a computer bag. It had been left in front of the Internal Revenue Service office on the 3rd floor of the University Town Center on Pacific Avenue. Police officers were alerted to the “package” around 9:15 this morning, and all of the evacuated people were allowed back into the building around 12:30 this afternoon.
