A collision caused a portion of Highway-17 to close for over an hour during this morning’s commute through the Santa Cruz Mountains. The crash involving a truck and a B-M-W occurred at 7:17 a.m. on Highway-17 at Laurel Road. Traffic was backed up to Scotts Valley while both north and south bound fast lanes were closed as crews worked to clear oil that was spilled from the truck during the collision. One person was air-lifted to a near-by hospital with injuries, meanwhile, all lanes were re-opened as of 8:40 a.m.
