A portion of Highway-1 south of Big Sur was temporarily closed today due to mudslides and debris on the road. The northbound lane of the highway was closed to have all debris cleared after the slides occurred about 20-miles near the Esalen Institute. Caltrans officials warn travelers in the area to plan ahead for future delays during cleanup operations.
