The new Superior Court Judge for Santa Cruz County was sworn in this week. Superior Court Judge John Gallagher was surrounded yesterday by friends and family members when he was officially welcomed to the bench during a formal investiture in a Watsonville Courtroom. Gallagher was elected to the bench in June for a 6-year term that was to start January 1st, but was sworn in earlier after former Superior Court Judge Robert Atack retired early. Gallagher, who was appointed to the seat in August, has worked for over 30-years on criminal and civil cases.
