The california highway patrol will be out in full force, this weekend. Starting at 6 p.m. this evening, every available officer will be deployed, as part of a “maximum enforcement period.” The statewide operation is part of an effort to crack down on drunk driving, using cell-phones while driving, and not wearing seatbelts. The maximum enforcement period will last until 11:59 sunday night. There will be another maximum enforcement period new year’s weekend.
