cal-fire officials have announced that the central fire protection district’s holiday toy drive collected 4-hundred toys this year. fire fighters, along with officers from the california highway patrol and the capitola police department, staffed booths at area toys ‘r’ us stores, and marshal’s, asking for donations. in addition to the 4-hundred toys, the drive collected 26-bicycles. central fire protection district personnel have held the holiday toy drive since 1988.
