A Salinas non-profit homeless shelter on Soledad Street is now charging visitors to spend the night. Victory Mission, a non-denominational Christian organization, is a homeless shelter for men over 18-years of age. The organization now has to charge $1 per night to keep the shelter from closing, in the past, they have been asking for donations. According to the organization’s president, Bob Barber, the new charge includes a hot shower, a hot meal and a place to stay.
