A Salinas gang member was sentenced today to 4-life terms for multiple charges, including attempted murder. 32-year old Gerardo Pineda Gomez, a Sureno gang member, was convicted in October for 2 counts of attempted murder, assault with a firearm, attempted solicitation of murder, witness intimidation and attempted solicitation of perjury. Gomez is expected to serve a minimum of 77-years in prison before being eligible for parole on the life sentences. The ruling stemmed from a September 2008 incident when Gomez ordered another man to fire gunshots into a car that injured one man.
