Stormy weather kept emergency crews all over the Central Coast busy this weekend. Trees, that had fallen due to the rainstorm, were being cleared from roads and power poles, were being repaired. In Santa Cruz County, mudslides were being cleared in Soquel all along Old San Jose Road near the Miller Cut-off and also near The Subud Center yesterday. Trees brought down a power line in an Aptos neighborhood. A large tree also fell across Hames Road in Freedom, and In Ben Lomond, a tree fell across Highway-9 landing near a video store. Dozens of signs around North Monterey County warned residents of flooded streets, with some of the biggest problems reported on San Juan Road. Forecasters say heavy rain is expected for tomorrow (tues), which is said to last until Christmas Day. Emergency officials warn motorists to take extra precautions while traveling on roadways, leave early, keep a good amount of space between vehicles while driving, and avoid going near downed power lines.
