DON’T EAT WILD MUSHROOMS – 12/16/10 10:15 S.S.

Collecting  and  eating  wild  mushrooms can cause serious  illness,   and  even  death.      THERE  ARE  2  SPECIFIC  MUSHROOMS  THAT ARE  OFTEN  THE  CULPRIT  IN  MUSHROOM-RELATED  DEATHS  IN  CALIFORNIA….AMANITA  OCREATA THE  “DESTROYING  ANGEL” AND  AMANITA  PHALLOIDES OR  “DEATH  CAP” MUSHROOM.      Eating poisonous  mushrooms  can  cause  abdominal  pain, cramping,  vomiting,  diarrhea  and  liver  damage. Anyone  who  develops  any  of  these  symptoms, after  eating  wild  mushrooms,   IS  ENCOURAGED  TO RAPIDLY  seek   medical   attention   and/OR   call  THE  California  Poison  Control  HOTLINE at 1-800-222-1222.
