A 20-year Fireworks ban was lifted last night in King City. Council members overturned the ban on the explosives after they were prohibited in the mid-90’s when they caused a house to catch fire. Local non-profits urged the city to lift the ban in hopes of raising money by selling the “Safe and Sane” fireworks. Sales from the fireworks are expected to bring back the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show, which has been canceled the last 3 years for lack of funding.
